Shutter Photo Frame

I am so excited about this project that I just did that I plan on linking to every party that I can think of!!!

 

I got these shutters at a rummage sale two weeks ago.  I actually got two of each kind.  The brown ones were $1.00 for the pair and the red ones were .50 cents for the pair.  SCORE!!

The first thing I did was to paint them a light sage green.  Like this.

Then I painted them with white right over the top.

When they were dry I took my handy dandy sanding block and distressed them to show the some of the green, the red and the wood.

It was way to bright at this point so I brushed on some Ralph Lauren glaze.

Then they found a home in my living room.

  10. You totally rock! What a great find. I found a shutter last week at the thrift store and racked my brains on how to use it. I left it there - sniff sniff. I hope I get a second chance and do what you did!
