I wish I would have taken a before picture of this area. It is amazing what a difference a few changes can make. This is a bookcase that I need to have for storage but don't really have a good place to put it. It is on the end of a dry bar that I use to store tools and kid stuff and a antique window hangs above it. I have the dry bar and the window as a visual barrier to separate our "entryway" from our living room. The bookcase appears to be in both areas. I don't have a space anywhere in the downstairs where it will work however. I digress. Anyhoo.
I "papered" the top to shelves that you can see with scrapbook paper and my glue gun. I used two complimentary patterns since I wanted to use what I already had. I then arranged the shelves with some accessories. I did that all before Christmas, but the top still looked wrong. See what I mean. In this shot you can see the jumbled mess of the shelf as well. I also fixed this area that is front as well.
Ahh this is worse than I remember!!!
That is much better!!
This shutter I picked up a couple of week's ago at the antique shop. It is a true antique and was supposed to be $40 for a pair. Well I only wanted one and have built a rapport with the owner. So she sold it to me for $10. Whoo!!!
The star is an old carpenter ruler that I just shaped into a star. I love this look!
The Hurricane was on top of our TV armoire. I purchased it months ago at the thrift store. I made the candle myself by just wrapping it with a piece of vintage sheet music. Around it are hearts made with more vintage sheet music, some vintage dominos, and some glass marbles. The crock has our town on it. i got that at a yard sale a few years back. The puppies were my dad's moms. I only have a dew things that belonged to her so they mean a lot to me. The blocks I bought from Etsy. I forgot the seller and I'm made about that she was wonderful.
This is a favorite picture of some of my little ones taken about 5 years ago while we we strawberry picking. I found the holder at Jo-Ann's. It was on clearance for $1.97. I think it says it all.
Here is that other area next to the bookcase.
Well what do you think?

ReplyDeleteI love your sheet music projects, and I'd love to do my own, but where can I find it?
ReplyDeleteCan anybody please help?
Thanks,
Theresa :)
Hi Theresa, thanks so much for your sweet comment. The sheet music I have came from small books that were once used in schools or himminals from churches, I have found all of it at either estate or garage sales. However I have seen it at antique shops very resonabily priced. MY best suggestion would be though to put out the word and let EVERYONE that you know that you NEED some!!
